Specialized Secondary Music Boarding School named after S.Krushelnitska existing in Lviv, one of the leading cultural European centres more than half a century meets the state needs in Ukrainian professional music elite.
Foundation of the school was initiated by V.Barvinskiy, a famous Ukrainian composer, pianist, teacher the author of the rich extensive national pedagogical repertoire. The school was founded in 1939 on the basis of Musical Institute named after M.Lisenko. Its history is connected with such music celebrites of Halichina and Europe as A.Levitska, R.Savitskiy, P,Pshenichka, R.Krishtalskiy, Y.Moskvichiv, O.Berezhnitskiy. The following famous musicians belong to school leavers: composers A.Nikodemovich, M.Skorik, B.Filts, B.Yanivskiy; prominent pianists A.Aks, O.Slobodyanik, V. Yeresko, Yu.Lisichenko, V.Vinnitskiy, M.Krushelnitska; world-famous violonists - O.Krisa, Yu.Korchinskiy, S.Dyachenko, B.Kotorovich, L.Shutko. Yu.Bashmet, (viola player); M.Chaikovska, N.Homa (cello-players); doctors of Art work V.Zaderatskiy, A.Tereshchenko, L.Korniy (musicologists) were the pupils of the school.
During different periods of time such famous personalites as V.Barvinskiy, A.Kos-Anatolskiy, V.Flis, M.Kolessa were teachers of theoretical subjects and composition, A.Terletskiy, O.Suhoverska, M.Bilinska, pianists I.Nehrebetska, O.Beretska, O.Berezhnitska, O.Protsishin-Pyasetska, D.Herasimovich. |
